Round aspheric lens – five times magnification

This 5x Mobilux LED magnifier comes with a host of helpful features for professional and home users. It has a 2¼”/58mm round aspheric lens made from lightweight PXM plastic, with a coating on both sides to protect it from scratches. The lens is of outstanding quality, with superb, optical clarity and performance. The lens magnifies text and images so they appear sharp and clear for reading and inspection tasks. An off-white upper section and lens rim blends into most backgrounds so there is minimal peripheral distraction on the eye.

Energy-saving white LED plus extra colour filters

A built-in SMD LED casts homogenous white light across your subject, enhancing contrast between letters and background so words become easier to read. Brightness consistency is aided by Eschenbach’s integrated ‘step-up’ light technology. This keeps illumination at a constant level so your subject is always comfortably lit. The low-energy LED is estimated by Eschenbach to have a lifespan of 50,000 hours, also helping make batteries last longer. If white light is too strong, then two additional orange and yellow filters are supplied. Simply snap the filter over the white LED to change the colour temperature.

Soft edges for handheld comfort

In the hand, the Mobilux LED feels solid and comfortable. The black handle has radiused edges, so it is smooth in the palm and easy to grip. A central finger switch slides up or down to activate the light. Useful printed information on the handle indicates lens magnification strength, along with a further figure showing the recommended working distance, in millimetres, for optimum text or image quality.

Soft case plus batteries included

Protect the lens when not in use by sliding over the soft case, which is supplied. Also includes two AA batteries, user instructions and cleaning guide. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the handle. An easy open-closure clip ensures batteries stay in place, but allows anyone with poor hand articulation to gain access. Inside the battery compartment an embossed diagram shows which way to insert the batteries. At the base of the handle there are two hollowed eyelets, which allow a lanyard (not supplied) to be threaded through if required.

Optional Mobase stand accessory

You can convert your Mobilux into a hands-free magnifier if required, with the optional Mobase stand. Made from sturdy black plastic, the Mobase allows you to position the magnifier over any subject in two different usage positions.
