Rectangular aspheric lens – three times magnification

This 3x model is the largest rectangular handheld magnifying glass in the series, and comes with many helpful features for professional and home users. It has a 4 x 3″/90 x 54mm aspheric lens made from lightweight PXM plastic, with a scratch-resistant coating on both sides. As you would expect, lens quality is second to none, with superior optics and distortion-free visibility. The aspheric lens renders text and images sharp and clear, making it a comfortable magnifier for reading and inspection tasks. The lens rim and upper section are finished in off-white, a colour which easily blends into most backgrounds, thereby helping direct your eyes to the lens without any peripheral distraction.

Powerful LED with extra colour temperature options

An integral SMD LED casts distinctive bright white light over your subject, enhancing contrast between letters and background so words become easier to read. ‘Step-up’ light technology maintains illumination level so you get consistent brightness when the LED is in use. Eschenbach states an estimated life span of up to 50,000 hours for the LED, saving of energy that prolongs the life of the batteries (supplied). The Mobilux is supplied with two additional colour filters, in yellow or orange, for two additional colour temperature options over the main white light.

Ergonomic design with sliding switch

In the hand, the Mobilux LED feels comfortable and solid to hold. A black handle with soft, radiused edges, is easy to grip. A sliding switch in the middle glides up or down when you need to operate the light. Even the numbers you can see just above the switch contain some helpful extra information. To the left you can see the magnification strength; next to that is an additional number at the end showing the optimum working distance, in millimetres, for best text or image quality.

Batteries included – easy insertion

On the underside of the handle, a battery compartment features a simple locking clip. Inside the compartment a raised emboss diagram shows which way to insert the batteries. The attention to detail doesn’t stop there. Punched into the bottom of the handle are two eyelets, which allow a lanyard (not supplied) to be threaded through if required. A soft case is supplied to protect the lens when not in use. Also includes two AA batteries, user instructions and cleaning guide.

Hands free usage option

If you’d like to use your Mobilux magnifier hands free, then an optional Mobase stand is also available. Made from sturdy black plastic, the Mobase is designed with two built-in positions so you can use it hands free at different magnifying angles.
